FROM CRAFTSMANSHIP TO HIGH TECHNOLOGY.PRECISION IN STEEL SINCE 1948.

From mechanical craftsmanship to advanced robotic welding processes
Throughout the 1960s, 70s, and 80s, the companies that later became known as Sykkylven Stål were among the first in Norway to adopt modern production technology. The introduction of CNC-controlled machines for tube and plate machining made the companies pioneers in efficient and precise metal production. Concurrently, a targeted investment in advanced robotic welding processes began, which over the next 40 years has been continuously developed with modern welding sources in robot cells with rotating manipulators for maximum precision and efficiency. At the same time, the experiences from the furniture industry, which placed strict demands on precision, repeatability, and delivery capability, became an important competitive advantage.
In the 1990s and 2000s, the company underwent several restructuring, mergers, and phases of growth. Even during periods of significant market shifts, such as oil price declines and global competition, the development of expertise, automation, and technological capacity continued. This opened new opportunities, especially within the maritime industry, where Sykkylven Stål eventually became a significant supplier of precision components.
Today, Sykkylven Stål stands as the result of more than 70 years of industrial development. We supply precise steel parts, components, and systems to the furniture, maritime, and technical industries, and offer the entire value chain from idea and prototyping to machining, welding, assembly, and logistics. The company also develops its own brands such as Dynoform® and Dyfosit, which are exported to customers all over the world.
Sustainability as direction
We actively work to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on responsible production, resource efficiency, and long-lasting products. For us, sustainability is both a responsibility and a strategic competitive advantage. A framework that governs how we create value for customers, employees, and the community around us.
